Description   Taffeta Cottage Bonnet This is a one of a kind bonnet, entirely made by hand by master milliner, Pamela Robles.  It is a cottage bonnet made entirely of iridescent (also called changeable or shot) silk taffeta.  The two colors that show, depending on the light, are turquoise and lavender.  It is gorgeous!  The outside of the bonnet is trimmed with turquoise picot edge ribbon.  The inside of the brim is untrimmed to allow for the practice of wearing a day cap under it which was common.  Please note the photo of the bonnet worn with the double pleated day cap.  This bonnet is perfect for the 1840s to the early 1850’s.  One size fits all and the price is $250.  These are made to order call for your color and trim.
