Description

The side laacing boot first appeared in the 1830's and was extremeely popular. This type of boot was worn through 1840's and into the 1860's.  All features in these shoes are taken from originals in the makers collection or from shoes in the collection at the Bata Shoe museum in Toronto, Canada. These shoes were commonly made from kid leather or cloth with leather toes and heels (foxing). In fact women did not wear front lacing boots until Prince Albert had a pair made for Queen Victoria in 1857. We stock various sizes from 5 to 12 medium and wide.
